Some of our Common FAQ's

What should I wear?

Casual clothes are fine. We advise not wearing trainers as they are a little too sticky on the floor - and leather soles may be too slippery! Composition soles are probably best, something with a smooth sole. Ladies may benefit from a small heel. But really don’t won’t too much, whatever you feel comfortable in is best.

Is there a car park?

Yes there is a car park behind the commercial garage directly opposite the school. You will need to buy a permit from County Dance and display it in your car.

The permit cost ranges from:

£3.00 for 2 hours, £8.00 for 1 month, £12.00 for 2 months, £15.00 for 3 months or £20.00 for 4 months.

Do I have to pay for the term?

No we offer a pay as you go policy so you only pay when you attend! Please note we only except cash or cheque on the premises. You can pay for a course of 8 lessons upfront, which does work out slightly cheaper, but if you miss a week you don't lose out it just rolls over!

  • Tiny Tots 3-5 yrs

This class runs on a Saturday morning and aims to introduce preschoolers to Ballroom and Latin American dancing. We teach the very basics in Waltz, Quickstep, Cha Cha and Samba. We add to these lots of party dances such as the Macarena and we try to include a little freestyle too. Tiny Tot's is a gentle and very fun class.

Parents and guardians are all seated around the edge making the children feel very secure.

    Juvenile Beginners / Improvers (5-8yrs) (8-12yrs)

Initially we teach children the basics of Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, Cha Cha, Samba & Jive and focus on understanding rhythm and timing. We also add a few party dances to the classes which are easy to master and add a social element.

    Juvenile Advanced (8-12yrs)

At this level children have a sound understanding of the basics, and can successfully dance Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Cha Cha, Samba and Jive. We focus a little more on style and technique and introduce two further dances, the Foxtrot and Rumba. Steps taught become more challenging both technically and choreographically. Lots of fun!

    Junior Beginners (12+ yrs)

We run this beginners class so the teenagers gain confidence with the basics before integrating with those who started at a younger age. Initially we teach the basics in Waltz, Quickstep, Cha Cha and jive.

Junior Improvers / Advanced (12+ yrs)

Children at this level have a sound understanding of the basics and can successfully dance Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Cha Cha, Rumba and Jive. We focus more on style and technique and introduce the remaining dances - Foxtrot, Samba, Viennese Waltz and Paso Doble. At an advanced level steps taught go beyond the usual syllabus, and variations become more challenging, both technically and choreographically, lots of fun and very skilful.
